About the Role
EHS Support is seeking an Environmental, Civil, or Hydrology Engineer with 1–5 years of experience to join its team of engineers leading environmental remediation projects across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.
The successful candidate will support a diverse portfolio of projects and work alongside engineers and scientists across multiple service lines, including Remediation and Sediment and Risk Assessment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible, self-motivated engineer who wants to develop their technical expertise while taking on increasing responsibility for environmental remediation projects.
Travel will be required based on client and project needs. Field deployments are typically one week or less, although occasional assignments may extend for multiple weeks.
Key Responsibilities
The Entry-Level Engineer will contribute to a variety of environmental engineering and remediation activities, including:
- Developing feasibility studies and corrective measures studies
- Evaluating remedial alternatives and supporting remedial design
- Developing conceptual site models
- Preparing engineering designs and bid specification packages
- Participating in field programs and construction oversight
- Conducting data analysis and interpreting technical information
- Supporting remedial system optimization, operation, and maintenance
- Designing and evaluating performance monitoring programs
- Supporting environmental permitting, including RCRA, Air, and NPDES requirements
- Managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste
- Preparing technical reports, including site investigation reports, work plans, and remedial action plans
- Supporting project and task management, including scope, schedule, and budget planning and implementation
Candidate Requirements
Education and Professional Experience
Candidates should have:
- A B.S. or M.S. degree in an engineering discipline
- The ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 1–5 years of direct experience in environmental engineering and the environmental consulting industry
- PE or EIT certification preferred

- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems, equipment, and field infrastructure
- The ability to use hand tools and perform system troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance activities in a field environment
Preferred Experience and Technical Knowledge
Highly qualified candidates may have knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Environmental Remediation and Site Assessment
- Environmental remediation and site assessment activities
- Remedy selection
- Remedial action work plan development
- Remedial system design, operation, and maintenance
- Performance monitoring
- Presentation of technical findings
Environmental Regulations
- Federal and state environmental regulations
- Environmental technical guidance
- Regulatory permitting and compliance requirements
Remedial Technologies
Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of remedial technologies, including:
- Groundwater recovery and treatment
- Soil vapor extraction
- Multi-phase extraction
- Air sparging and biosparging
- In-situ chemical oxidation
- Monitored natural attenuation
- Excavation and grading
- Stormwater drainage management
- Capping alternatives
- Other in-situ and ex-situ remediation technologies
Regulatory Submittals and Documentation
Experience preparing regulatory and technical documents, such as:
- RCRA permit applications and submissions
- NPDES permit applications
- Air discharge permit applications
- Feasibility studies
- Corrective measures studies
- Work plans
- Remedial design documents and specifications
- As-built drawings
- Performance monitoring reports
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience working with California regulatory agencies, including DTSC, RWQCB, SCAQMD, APCDs, and LOPs
- Contractor management experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- PE or EIT certification
