The programme is designed for young South Africans who want to build a career in banking, particularly in personal and private banking, customer service and branch operations. Successful learners will gain workplace exposure while developing practical skills that can support future career opportunities in financial services.
Standard Bank Frontline Learnership 2026
The Young Talent Frontline Programme provides hands-on exposure to branch banking operations, customer engagement, digital banking adoption and service excellence.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain experience across three frontline banking areas:
Client Liaison Officer
As a Client Liaison Officer (CLO), learners will welcome and engage with customers, understand their banking needs and connect them with suitable banking solutions.
The role also provides exposure to digital banking and self-service channels, helping customers understand and use available banking services.
Cash Consultant
The Cash Consultant (CC) role focuses on everyday cash and transactional banking needs.
Learners will gain practical experience assisting customers while ensuring transactions are processed accurately, efficiently and securely.
Universal Banker
The Universal Banker (UB) role provides broader exposure to branch banking.
Learners will assist customers with different everyday banking requirements while developing knowledge of banking products, processes and services.
Who Can Apply?
The Standard Bank Frontline Learnership is aimed at young graduates who meet the programme’s eligibility requirements.
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Have no more than 24 months of work experience
- Have completed an NQF Level 7 Degree
- Have an interest in building a career in banking and client relationships
- Not currently be registered for another learnership
- Not be studying full-time or part-time if the studies conflict with working hours
